Hi Gents,
for those who have not been tracking eve development over the last few years (I was doing so before I started playing eve, and this was one of the reasons I started playing eve) take a look at the following web page which seems to have been tracking eve developemnt from 2007 to 2008.

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=379"We were also teased with...
FPS planet-side.
Not much was said, but CCP showed a quick trailer of planetary FPS combat, complete with what looked like maybe a brutix just a few km above the top of a mountain range getting smacked by maybe planetary fire, all from the perspective of a grunt on the ground.

Heres a video from a CCP Fan Fest (in 2006) showing a Caldari Interceptor (Raptor?) Engaging Angel ships in low planety orbit then going to the planets suface:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pg1dzAvL2MOne thing I have noticed watching these brilliant movies is that the explosions used to be slightly more impressive with larger tangible particle effects and the ships chassis seemingly disolving or imploding under the power of the explosions.
I wish they would also bring back the trails or tails that the engines used to emit and the old Jump Drive effects (before they went buggy and the tail of the wormhole used to fly arround in a circle).
Another good old video:

CCP mention of inhabiting asteroids in this video (towards the end):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8KD1z3XBkUI cannot for the life of me find that video which has a Bruitix flying over a planets suface from a ground point of view. Bah!
